How to play Dominoes

Bring your attention to one round of Dominoes. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Read the objective before making your first input. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

A useful comparison

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

Controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
