How to play Scorpion Solitaire

Try Scorpion Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Look at what changes after your first action.

Seven columns; three stock cards dealt once to the first three columns. Free solo play, no wagering.

Keep the aim in sight

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

A useful example

The trailing cards may be unordered, but the destination suit and rank must match. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
